Escape!!

Strider: I'm sorry I maded you so upset, Mom!! But I've been sittin' in the window noticin' how nice outside looks now, and I just couldn't help myself. I had to go out there!! I just wanted to roll around on the ground and feel the grass on my paws. Remember, before I came to live with you and Dad, I was outside on my own. I know my way around out there. I didn't mean to scare you by gettin' so close to the road, either. I'm glad to be safe and back inside, though!!

Smeagol: I don't know why you'd want to go out there. I've been out there a few times, and it's so big and scary! I can smell everything I need to smell from our nice safe windows!

Did you sneak out around their feet when the door was opened? I try that but they usually catch me. -Scout

It's safer to stay inside where nothing can harm you.

Be very careful outside. It's best to out with your mom or dad with you, and on a leash. Then they're there to protect you if need be. Glad you're okay!

Glad you are safe, Strider. Take care outside. i do go outside but only when my mum is there to supervise me. Plus I am a very sedate kitty who takes six steps across the patio and then keels over (my mum says), going out of my own garden would be MUCH too energetic for me!!

My Ep never tried to run away. The world scared her too much. She'd smell and slowly take steps toward the back fence. But a plane flying over, a bird swooping down, or any other number of things would send her scurrying back to the house.

Watching these dogs like I've been doing lately I've learned they always are scamming their next escape. Drives me crazy. I remind them that there's likely no one to scratch their necks and provide treats if they were to run away. Certainly something to keep in mind.

I so want to go outside, but my mom says we live on a pretty busy road and the last thing she wants to see is me, starring in "Splat Cat."

If that's the case, lady, then don't complain about the nose smudges on the window!

I plan my escape every day. When the mom opens the door to let the doggies outside I just blend in with the pack and run out the door. She gets so busy with the puppies that by the time she gets to me I'll have been out there long enough to have a grass snack. When we want to keep her really busy Punkin and Lucky join me. Just remember to stay away from cars.

How did you manage to escape, Strider?! I have been trying for ages to find my way to the City of Outside, but I have had no luck. Any insider tips would be appreciated.
